‘Operation Kaveri’ Successfully Rescues 3,862 Indians From Sudan

The Indian Air Force operated 17 flights, and the Indian Navy ships carried out five sorties to transport Indians from Port Sudan to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.
India completed ‘Operation Kaveri,’ which was launched to rescue its citizens stuck in crisis-hit Sudan, on Friday, with the transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force making its final flight to bring 47 passengers home.
On April 24, India launched Operation Kaveri to evacuate its citizens from Sudan, which has witnessed deadly fighting between the country’s army and a paramilitary group.
According to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, 3,862 people have been evacuated from Sudan as of Friday’s arrival of the Indian Air Force C130 flight.
