Notorious Drug Peddler Arrested in Budgam Under PSA

Srinagar, Apr 10 :On Monday, the Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed to have arrested a prominent drug dealer in the Budgam region of central Kashmir as a result of the tough Public Safety Act.

A spokesperson for the Budgam Police said in a statement that “continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of narcotics from the society, Budgam Police have booked one known drug seller under the Public Safety Act (PSA) after getting official detention orders from the competent Authority.”

Identifying the accused as Fayaz Ahmed Ganie son of Late Abdul Ahad Ganie resident of Hanjibugh Magam, the spokesperson said the booked notorious drug peddler has been detained and lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu.

The said drug peddler, the spokesperson said, was involved in several NDPS cases registered in various police stations of the district and was promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of District Budgam.

“Despite his involvement in many FIRs, the drug peddler did not mend his activities”, maintained the statement.
